Biotherm Summary -L’Oreal’s Ghost Line
L’Oreal is one of the largest brands in the world and nearly everyone has heard of them. However, although Biotherm has had success, it does not appear that the success can be attributed to L’Oreal. While L’Oreal does in fact own Biotherm, it does not appear to actually have much to do with the brand itself.
What we do know about Biotherm is that it originated in 1950 when a biologist in France found an interesting element in a mountain spring. This ingredient was later patented as Vitreoscilla-Ferment. However, Biotherm’s website does not include a full list of ingredients, although we do know that Biotherm Biosensitive does contain deer antlers.
L’Oreal’s sponsorship of Biotherm gives it credibility. It is unusual, however, that L’Oreal does not advertise that it owns the brand. The simple fact that they do not claim Biotherm raises suspicions. It must also be taken into consideration that the products lack a full ingredients list, company information, and clinical studies.

Conclusion
Although L’Oreal USA owns Biotherm, there is not much publicity that goes into acknowledging this fact. There is also a sore lack of ingredient lists, scientific studies, and company information on the company’s website, so it is difficult to say how effective the line is.
